No one can say that 840 trees is not a BIG tree planting – but this is exactly what the braves of Kilfinan Community Forest, near Tighnabruaich in Cowal are lumbering (sorry) up to do on 17th March.
From 9.30am until 4.00pm volunteers, staff and the board of KCFC will be planting the 840 trees as part of the Woodland Trust’s Jubilee Woods project.
Over 1,000,000 trees were planted, nationwide, in February alone – so everyone interested in coming to help and planting their individual part of a living history will be welcomed with delight.
All that is need are some wellies, a spade and a pair of gloves.
They say waterproofs optional as they’re keeping their fingers crossed for a dry and sunny day. We say what’s wrong with having a Plan B?
Anyone who’d enjoy being part of this treefest, is welcome to come for the whole day or just for a while.
The famous ‘KCF Soup and Sandwich Lunch’ will be provided for all participants as well as tea and biscuits throughout the day.
